EW – This Sunday marks the 35th anniversary of Blade Runner, the iconic sci-fi noir from director Ridley Scott. What better way to celebrate — and help ramp up our anticipation for the upcoming sequel — than an exclusive look at Blade Runner 2049? “We are running towards the finishing line right now,” director Denis Villeneuve (Arrival) told EW recently. “We are elated. It feels like Christmas as we look at the completed shots.”
We know what he means. Just take a look at the video above, titled Blade Runner 2049: Time to Live, which boasts nearly four minutes from the film along with behind-the-scenes footage. Beginning with Officer K (Ryan Gosling) walking through what looks like deserted casino while Frank Sinatra’s “One For My Baby (And One More For the Road)” plays on the soundtrack, the completely compelling world of 2049 unfolds — a teeming city with holograms the size of skyscrapers, weather that has gone berserk, Jared Leto playing a mysterious someone named “Wallace,” and, of course, the welcome return of Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard.
It’s finally here!
EW – It’s time to see what Rick Deckard has been up to for the last 34 years
It’s been a long wait since 1982, but now we have our first real tantalizing look at Blade Runner 2049, the sequel to the classic sci-fi film directed by Ridley Scott — adapted from Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? — about Rick Deckard, a “blade runner,” who must hunt down rogue replicants (human-seeming androids).
For devotees of Scott’s film, this announcement piece for 2049 — directed by Denis Villeneuve (Arrival) with Scott as executive producer — should put any concerns they might have had to rest. Just look at this thing: That mysterious yellow landscape! Those crowded and neon-rimmed streets of Los Angeles! Ryan Gosling’s great-looking coat! Rick Deckard in a gray T-shirt!
Sure, we don’t totally know what is going on, but here’s the synopsis courtesy of Alcon Entertainment: Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
The film also stars Ana de Armas, Robin Wright, Jared Leto, Barkhad Abdi, Lennie James, Mackenzie Davis, and Sylvia Hoeks, and will arrive in theaters on Oct. 6, 2017.

COMINGSOON.NET – Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling want you to win a trip to the Blade Runner 2 set
Alcon Entertainment’s Blade Runner sequel is now filming in Budapest and there’s a chance that you could experience it firsthand. Ryan Gosling is the host of a new Omaze video that features both he and Harrison Ford presenting a special message from the Blade Runner 2 set. As has been done in the past on productions like Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Trek Beyond, Omaze has a new campaign designed to raise money for a trio of important organizations: The Enough Project, Imerman Angels and The Hummingbirds Foundation. In today’s video, Gosling focuses on The Enough Project but, if past Omaze campaigns are any indication, we’re likely to see additional videos focused on the other two.
